Sabrina Friel – Yoga Instructor

Sabrina began practicing Hot Yoga (Hatha) in Dublin in 2007 and immediately noticed the physical and mental benefits – her body awareness improved and she felt incredibly calm & grounded.

She continued to practice regularly and became eager to share her passion with others. By 2012, she successfully completed a 500 hour teacher training course with Bikram’s Yoga College of India. Sabrina then began teaching yoga part-time in Dublin along with her full time job as a regional manager for an international franchise company before deciding in 2014, to move back home to Buncrana with her boyfriend Jack and open her own Yoga studio in Buncrana.

As a yoga teacher she has gained a wealth of experience from managing her own studio and teaching – among others – the players of Derry City FC. She has taught in various studios in Dublin, Belfast, Derry, Letterkenny, Buncrana and at yoga retreats in France. She has also organised “Yoga and Surf” retreats in Donegal.

Sabrina is passionate about yoga and she loves to practice and share yoga with others everyday. She has a strong daily Ashtanga Primary series practice, and she continues to grow and learn as a student and a teacher everyday.

Always keen to continue to develop her knowledge of yoga and study the art further by attending a diverse range of yoga workshops on a regular basis, she recently completed a 200 hour Vinyasa Teacher Training and Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training.

Now, drawing upon various styles including Hatha, Vinyasa, and Ashtanga Yoga – Sabrina’s classes are an energetic expression of yoga which emphasise alignment-based movement, led by the breath. Sabrina guides students to awakening and becoming aware of their own bodies through dynamic flow and rhythmic breathing.

In maintaining a mindful practice, she believes the mind/body connection teaches us how to live a fulfilling, healthy and happy life on and off the mat!

Sabrina hopes that her classes help others develop their body awareness and a balance between flexibility and strength; as well as a connection with their most honest self.
