Karen McBrearty Kinesiology

Karen McBrearty has been working in the Housing Section of Donegal County Council for over 14 years therefore has great experience in dealing with people, one to one, on a daily basis. She completed a HND in Early Childhood Studies (2004) and worked as a Special Needs Assistant for a time before accepting full time employment in the Council.

Always having an interest in the body and mind and encouraging positive mental health Karen completed a Certificate in Psychology (2007). She also holds a Certificate in Occupational First Aid (2017).

Karen qualified with a Diploma in Holistic Body Massage and Anatomy and Physiology in 2005, unfortunately she did not develop same at that time but is due to complete a refresher course in Anatomy and Physiology this year which will greatly benefit her Kinesiology practise going forward.

Kinesiology has become her passion after completing the Foundation in Balanced Health (Kinesiology) in 2015 and completing a Diploma in Systematic Kinesiology July 2017.

She is also due to complete a Diploma in Nutritional Advice in 2019.

In Kinesiology Karen looks at the person as a whole including all aspects, Mental, Physical, Nutritional and Emotional when investigating symptoms from digestive issues to stress to low back pain. Food Intolerance testing would appear to be the most sought after treatment which proves very successful. This can then lead onto topics of everyday stress or past emotional traumas which can also have and create problems with the physical body with similar symptoms as mentioned above.
